Iron Gravel 720 report. Id been a ill a few days leading up to the event but i thought I would give it a go so off I went to Alicante for the start. Right from the off my heart rate was a lot higher than usual so I new it was a bit of a gamble. Having done a few of these type of events now you can tell when its going wrong and a disappearing appetite is one of them. I rode on into the night where the temperature dropped to 5 deg in the rain and mist on top of a mountain and it was all getting too much. I dropped down and found a hostel with a room for the night and had already decided to call it day. I rode back to the start the next day, 100km of road and went home to recover.
