May 2010 - 14 Cyclosportive International Sierras de Moratalla
170km around Murcia. A very popular Spanish sportive which will include an overnight stay. €TBA

May 2010 - 7th Marcha Cyclosportive Juan Martinez Oliver
131 km, €TBA including a cycling shirt. We travel to and from this event in one day. A great sportive with lots of local clubs competing.

29th May 2010 La Sufrida (the suffering)
A sportive around Ronda of 2 distances 196km or 117km with the longer taking in over 4000mts of climbing. This is a well organized event with timing being done with chips and gold, silver and bronze medals being given to those quick enough. As an added challenge the longest climb is timed separately! and added at the end. You will be given a goody bag and provided with food afterwards. We will be staying the night before in the amazing town of Ronda giving you a bit of time for sightseeing. The event is well attended by Spanish clubs including my own, with the winner completing last year with an average of 32km!

June 2010 - Cyclosportive Puerto de La Ragua
A 110 km sportive climbing the mighty cat 1 Puerto de  La Ragua twice from both sides. This climb is being used in this year’s Vuelta a España so a great chance to ride it before the pros. A brilliant social event with a huge Paella after the ride.

July 2010- Sierra Nevada Limite
Road Sportive week
Come and join us in southern Spain next July for a brand new sportive event. Called the Sierra Nevada Limité Road this will be a spectacular and tough event, bringing together two of Spain’s best events, with a cyclosportive on Saturday and another on Sunday.
The choice on Saturday is 94km or 202km around the mighty Sierra Nevada mountains, climbing a total of 5280 mts on the longer ride. On Sunday we climb the Pico Veleta mountain, only 47 km in length but a height gain of 2565 mts and finishing 3290 mts above sea level.
This event has been running for years on its own, with the same winner for the last 10 years, but now joined with another challenge this will be a sportive to remember. Add to this a stay in the amazing city of Granada, plus after ride, barbecue and cycle exhibition - a weekend not to be missed.
We are offering this as a week package from dates TBA. We will be staying in Granada on the Friday and Saturday nights and at our amazing townhouse on the remaining days with rides around the stunning Alpujarra mountains from our doorstep.

September - Tour of Spain
If you are lucky enough to be nearby during the Tour of Spain, we will be going to watch 3 mountain stages by car or by bike depending on the stage. The first one we will be watching starts in Almeria on the 11th September and the second starts in our cycling club’s hometown of Berja. This will be a great chance to see 3 stages so close together.

Fiesta!!
Feeling like a party and think you can stay up as late as our Spanish friends? Then if you are lucky enough to be here during a fiesta this is a great time to sample real Spansh life.

Early May - San Isidro Fiesta
This fiesta takes place in the church square outside the house. A lovely local fiesta involving broad beans, cold meats and local wine made by our neighbour.

Late June - San Juan
This is the water fiesta when all the local pools open. Not having a pool in our square, we just have a band, beer and early morning paella! Or we can go to the local pool and have a midnight swim!

Mid August - Expo Cádiar
A fair in the main town of local produce, lots of stalls and goodies to sample.

Early October - Feria de Cádiar
The main annual fiesta, this takes place in town with fair rides, extra bars and stalls. with live music every night. The sort of fiesta you need a holiday after!
