Suzz : March Training Week

This was our second trip to Vamos in Cadiar, and we would love to come again!

Gary has some awesome routes with brilliant climbs, and somehow the lunch & coffee stops are always at the top?!

The roads are smooth and so quiet, and if there are any cars they patiently sit behind you until there is plenty of room to pass.  In our week we only saw ONE pothole, so a refreshing change from the UK!

What can I say about the catering, other than it is incredible, tasty and in copious volumes!  Beware you are in danger of returning home heavier than when you arrive!

Sarah & Gary are fabulous hosts, and we would recommend Vamos Cycling to anyone keen to cycle smooth tarmac, improve your climbing, and get braver on the descents!

Thank you Gary & Sarah, hope to see you in 2017!

Guest: Review

Wow! What an amazing find. Staying with Sarah and Gary is like going to stay with great friends and you're very quickly made to feel at home. Sarah is amazing and goes out of her way to make sure that you have a great time.

Each morning started with a feast of a breakfast with large bowls of delicious creamy porridge followed by bread, croissant, meats, cheese, yogurts, fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee.

Although we hadn't opted for the guided rides Gary was very happy to share his detailed knowledge of the area, offering valuable advice on which routes to take to suit our varying abilities, and uploading the appropriate files to our Garmins. His recommendations on where to stop for coffee and tostadas were spot on every time. Every ride was fantastic with long but gentle climbs, stunning views, beautiful sweeping downhill sections and the most smooth tarmac you've ever seen.

Late afternoons were spent chilling with the other guests - relaxing on the sunny terrace supping a post ride cuppa and beer. When the weather turned cooler there was the large lounge to relax in and watch TV.

Although there's a large choice of places to eat in Cadiar we chose to eat in most nights so as not to miss out on Sarah's delicious meals which were perfect for the hungry cyclist. With something different on the menu every night, large quantities and amazing puddings, along with your choice of wine/beer, there was very little temptation to ever leave the house.

The unexpected extras that Sarah provided such as washing & drying our kit, finding gluten free cycling snacks and zumba classes(!) really made this is a wonderful, memorable holiday.

Matt Hall: Spring Training Week

This is my second trip with Vamos as part of a small group after a fantastic week last year. The set up Gary and Sarah have created can't be faulted from the transfer from Malaga airport to the guided rides everything is taken care of. The roads around Cadiar are fantastic, super smooth surfaces (now I know where all the EU money goes!), very little traffic and some great climbs. Sarah's food is fantastic and great for replacing those burnt calories although there is a danger you will go home heavier than you left.

I cannot recommend highly Vamos enough and we will be returning again next year.

Guest: Spring training week

Many thanks for a fantastic week. Superb riding - smooth roads (ok, apart from that 1km stretch one day!), no traffic, stunning scenery, great routes and guiding. Cordon bleu cooking and hospitality. All in all, a brilliant week - no better option if you want to get a week of good quality riding up some hills, with everything done and catered for you. Will definitely be back!

Rob Allen : Mojacar Week (Feb 2016)

Even though I'd been to Cadiar multiple times over the past six years this was my first Vamos trip to Mojacar, I was pleased to find that the principles and essence had simply been moved to somewhere a bit warmer for a change.

The riding was still excellent, no-one taking themselves too serious but with plenty of challenging climbs when we wanted to test ourselves, we also were sharing the roads with quite a few U23 Belgian and Dutch teams who were getting in some warm weather miles too (they were taking in far too seriously though!)

A couple of these teams were also staying at the hotel which was perfect for our needs, a large and varied buffet for each meal that you could choose to eat completely how you wanted in terms of being healthy or getting stuck in to the desserts (although none were up to Sarah's pudding standards!). The hotel staff were all really helpful and with so many cyclists around were used to our occasional quirks and also importantly ensured we had somewhere safe to lock our bikes up.

All in all a cracking week with some good people on some cracking road!
